KM Dragon Boat Race

Published by Ess, 3 Jul 2016

Two teams took part in the KM Dragon Boat Race, organised by the Kent Messenger Charity Team at Mote Park in Maidstone to raise money for Holding On Letting Go.

One team, the Wacky Racers came from AMD Environmental, Dartford. A big thank you to Davion Cheng, Paul Collette, John Cusick, Raj Gill, Danel Graves, Paul Maulkin, Victoria Maulkin, Daniel Pearce who between them raised £1128.75.

The other boat was filled with HOLG volunteers, families and friends: John Savidge, Hugh and Molly Cleland, Ben Brookman, Amanda Powell, Harland Guscott, Oliver, Gus and Lucy McCarthy, Martin Crowther and his son Thomas, Jenny Jordan and Steve Samuels.

The total raised for HOLG from the two teams was over £4200. It was a very enjoyable day and although we were nowhere near the podium spots everyone had fun!

A huge thank you to the Kent Messenger Charity Team for organising such a great event and to all those who took part to support HOLG.

If you are feeling sporty and want to help us help more grieving children, why not think about getting a team together for next year’s race? It will be held on 2nd July 2017 in Mote Park. If you would like to take part please let us know!
